The Sum of All Kisses by Julia Quinn

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book triggered an old memory as I read..
When in class we're stuck learning to dance. With a friend as my dance partner, the first steps were awkward, there was some major stumbling and few tumbles. Slowly, the steps started to glide together, the steps go easier and even as we started to master the dance there was still a few trip ups but the joy of dancing on air was something that can't be describe.

The Sum of All Kisses was much like that. There was alot of awkwardness when Lord Hugh Prentice and Lady Sarah Pleinsworth first met where there's still alot of anger and unanswered questions. Sarah still hasn't forgiven Hugh for the heartache he put her family through with the duel and her cousin Daniel being chased from home. Hugh is still dealing the effects of this duel with a ruined leg and his very crazy father.
As peace finally reigns for both families things come to head for these two when …

When it comes to re-tellings or takes on Pride and Prejudice I tend to take with a little bit of salt or if it deals with zombies a big heaping. Thankfully, I could control my salt intake with Unleashing Mr. Darcy that was completely adorable. Awesome tension between enemies turn friends turn lovers. All center around dog shows!

Through a series and bumps in the road both Elizabeth and Donovan Darcy find themselves with not so sterling opinion of one another, but find a odd understanding and wanting they try to fight tooth and nail. With each dog show and friends of family throwing these two together of course it just adds to the already building tension.

The only trouble I did have was the tug and pull of dislike, with one second thinking they be working it out then the next them going back to daggers drawn. It was nice how these two work through some their troubles along the way while discovering one another along …

Duke of Midnight by Elizabeth Hoyt

I'm always in the height of anticipation when it comes to Hoyt's newest book. When I found out it was to be Maximus Batten, Duke of Wakefield book, I couldn't wait to see how Hoyt would make him eat his harsh words toward a kind lady's companion and what made him tick.

The thing was he was out shined by IMO the best heroine of the series so far Artemis Greaves. Artemis has had some really crappy hands dealt to her in life and the last blow was her very sane twin brother Apollo thrown into Bedlam for a crime he didn't commit. Artemis is almost at her wit's end in how to get her brother outta there, when the Ghost of St.Giles drops in to save her and her dim-witted cousin and leaves a clue to who he is behind the mask.

Driven by revenge and guilt Maximus haunts St.Giles to track down the murder of his parents as one of the Ghosts of St.Giles. When he saves two women from footpads, he meets his mat…

Scarlett doesn't know who to turn to but she better find out fast whose behind it all before she's next!

For me, Jenn McKinlay is a hit and miss author. While I never got into her Cupcake Bakery series, I've become a big fan of her Library Lover's series. So when I read the write up for her newest series, I was looking forward to this series. Not only I'm a A…
