Thief of Shadows (Maiden Lane, #4) by Elizabeth Hoyt

Thief of Shadows by Elizabeth Hoyt

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There's two emotions I can always count on when reading Hoyt's books joy and disappointment. Joy because I'm reading such an awesome book, and disappointment cause when it's over! What happened to savoring the book Rane? But I couldn't help myself cause it was awesome!

Thief of Shadows picks up right up where Scandalous Desires, and where Scandalous Desires had some weakness in the heroine and some anti-climatic moments toward the end, Thief of Shadows had none of this, the heroine Isabel Beckinhall was quickly on par with Winter. Both characters were truly human in everything they did and felt.

Isabel might have acted flighty but had a huge heart, very warm and open to all those around her and even bigger scar left from her marriage. Out of all the characters I've come across in Hoyt's book Isabel felt hit the nail on the head about being a woman and truly being a mother is. Cause nothing is …

One Night Is Never Enough (Secrets, #2) by Anne Mallory

One Night Is Never Enough by Anne Mallory

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There's nothing I adore and love more then a a self-made man as a hero in HRs, and the charming rouge that is Roman Merrick stole me heart with a smile and wink. Behind his mask lays a man whose seen darkness and death and fights it with ruthlessness hiding a gentle soul deep down.
Charlotte is a cold ice queen, fighting off sharp dragger like words as she holds her head up high as her father flushes all her family, her sister and her chances along with their family money down the drain. Charlotte tries to turn the other cheek hoping the marry well to protect her sister, hiding a free spirit who longs to be free.

In Roman who wins her in a bet, her father stupidly lost, he brings her out of her shell, and lets her run wild in free. The chess match that plays between the is hot but also gentle and engaging. I did find the character of Charlotte background more open then that of Roman whose at times seem to be …

Seven Secrets of Seduction (Secrets, #1) by Anne Mallory

Seven Secrets of Seduction by Anne Mallory

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It's been awhile since I read such a sensual and there's nothing more sensual then Seven Secrets of Seduction, the words just burn off the pages and the batter between Maximilian, Viscount Downing and Miranda Chase was very fresh and never stilled.

Miranda is my favorite type of heroine, she's smart and clever, plus she's just a shopgirl, not some rich woman of the ton. Maxim was at times a true mystery as the author gave us more of Miranda view then Maxim until later, by then we're so in thralled by him it's just another goodie when we're given his view and thoughts.

The story wasn't dark, nor was it light, but the perfect balance inbetween, with the focus always being between the growing relationship and pitfalls Maxim and Miranda have the face with being from two different walks of life yet finding middle ground, trust and love.

Anne Mallory proves what an amazing writer sh…

A Night Like This (Smythe-Smith Quartet #2) by Julia Quinn

A Night Like This by Julia Quinn

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

JQ has the gift of being a great pick me up storyteller, her stories are always smart and alot of fun. The focus on the Smythe-Smith and their crazy family and well known ear bleeding musicals bring a smile to anyone's face if they'll read JQ's books.
A Night Like This follows in the same vein as the book before it Just Like Heaven with it's at times very simple plot. At the sane time reminded me of an older novel On the Way to the Wedding, but lacked the spark I found in On the Way to the Wedding.

Daniel Smythe-Smith was a charming hero, but sometimes really lacked the common sense that he seem to have lost by being on the run for three years once he lays eyes on Anne. Anne seem to show alot of common sense from her own troubles from her past and knew their stations would hinder anything between them. Daniel seem to turn a blind eye to this even when he knew the dangers.

JQ is known from her wicked batter …
