Unlocked (Turner #1.5) by Courtney Milan

Not feeling the romance buzz of late, I've taken a break from all romance, only to be pulled back with this amazing short story by one author I know can write some amazing novels with beautifully deep characters. Ten years ago Lady Elaine Warren (BF of the heroine of Unveiled) was mocked and teased by Evan Carlton to the point that even ten years later she's sunned by society. Now a man, Evan returns to see the damage he's done to Elaine a wallflower and feel disgusted with himself, his cousin that kept the insults up and society as a whole. Wanting to make things right, he's surprised the girl he was secretly attached to is still that bright girl with that laugh out loud hidden underneath with sharp claws and able to take the hits and able to give as good as she gets, and perhaps a second chance at love and forgiveness. When it comes to short stories, I don't want just a sex marathon, I want them to pack and punch in the short pages and chapters. And Unlocked …

Chimera (Chimera #1) by Rob Thurman

After reading Cal Leandros book #1 Nightlife, I came to truly love Rob Thurman's style of writing and quickly ate up Nightlife and turned my sights on Chimera. Russian Mafia + Scifi elements + two great leads/brothers + action action = WIN! This book read like a scifi action thriller movie that it made it hard to really walk away from this book or even trying to sleep without wanting to peek at just one more page... Stefan Korsak saw his brother taken ten years ago. To this day, Stefan still holds out hope that his brother Lukas is still alive and is willing to put everything he has into finding him. Working on the low rung of the Russian Mafia , which he and his brother were born into by right of their father. But Stefan never wanted that life for either himself or his brother, but he's willing to do anything even kill to have his brother back. Hounded (Iron Druid Chronicles #1) by Kevin Hearne

Hounded by Kevin Hearne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A few moons ago, I use to read PNR/UF books like I breathe air, and ate them like potato chips. Then the treads started up with many authors pretty much doing the same thing over and over again. Walking back to the genres has been (so far) very good with the help of many of my GR friend’s reviews; I’ve had a lot of luck with PNR and Romantic UFs, but haven’t had the true courage to try my hand at a UF until Hounded. Hounded is a book that made me remember why I loved and miss the genre so much! There was never a true dull moment in this book, and it was hard for me to walk away without wanting to read just a few more pages…! And that alone is a mark that I’m soo going to enjoy this book!

Atticus O’Sullivan is the last Druid and for the past two thousand years has been hunted by a fae god out to get a powerful sword that Atticus has kept hidden. After so much running Atticus is tried of the BS and has finally decided to make a s…

The Wedding of the Century & Other Stories: The Wedding of the Century\Jesse's Wife\Seduced by Starlight by Mary Jo Putney, Kristin James, Charlotte Featherstone

The Wedding of the Century & Other Stories: The Wedding of the Century\Jesse's Wife\Seduced by Starlight by Mary Jo Putney
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When I first started to read this anthology, I kept getting this feeling that I read this somewhere, and after reading another GR friends comment, I dawned on me I have read the first two of the stories!

The Wedding of the Century by Mary Jo Putney gives a new takes on an old tragic story, but this time with a true happy ever after. 4 Stars

Jesse's wife by Kristin James was very sweet, and it was fun to revist. I did get a tad bored toward the ending. 3 Stars

Seduced by Twilight by Charlotte Featherstone is the true reason I did pick this up. With the chance to re-visit characters from two of her other and two of my favorite books- Addicted & Sinful. Jase (Anais and Lindsay son-Addicted) has been in love with Blossom (Matt and Jane Daughter-Sinful) but when Blossom and his brother Samuel become engaged, Jase can'…

Captive Bride by Bonnie Dee

Captive Bride by Bonnie Dee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bonnie Dee is a rising author, whose work is always new and fresh, from a different and new perspective and for me Captive Bride "captures" this perfectly. With a setting unknown and sometimes forgotten in America history and not one of the brightest spots in US history. Dee brings it to vivid color with her writing voice, with the ability not to point fingers but give it to the reader in brass facts.

The journey of Huiann who arrives in america thinking she was to be a bride, but really going to be forced into the sex trade. keeping her head, Huiann waits for the moment to run and with luck or fate ends up in the arms of Alan a shop keeper trying to live through the nightmares of war and trying to make a better place for a city with a hovering black cloud over it.

Dee does this remarkable communication between Alan and Huiann. Through drawings and a slow progress of teaching English to her, Alan and Huiann talk to o…
